Kate Middleton’s Zara dress is affordable and looks like a million dollars

Pretty much every time Kate Middleton wears something, I dive deep into the world of online shopping and try to deceive myself affordably. When she wears something that already affordable? I’m even more excited about the outfit, which is why I was so excited to see Kate Middleton wearing a Zara dress by visiting the city of Bradford this week. Sadly, the exact dress she wore is already sold out, but I love seeing the Duchess slay budget sets, and I fully intend to create a similar look.

As far as I’m concerned, Middleton is the ultimate master of the up-down approach to fashion, often pairing affordable pieces with luxury accessories and outerwear. On her recent visit to Bradford, she did just that by pairing her stunning green Alexander McQueen jacket, black Gianvito Rossi pumps and croc-print Aspinal of London handbag with a dress by none other than Zara. When photos of Middleton and Prince William arriving in the city first aired, fans couldn’t see her full look under her winter coat. .

Her Zara dress featured balloon sleeves, a neckline, and a fabric-covered belt in the same herringbone pattern as the dress itself:

She also accessorized with a milkshake. Is she or isn’t she adorable?

The good news? Zara’s Belted houndstooth dress ($ 36, originally $ 90, Zara) is still live on the brand’s website, and it’s for sale. The bad news? Only size XS is left, so unless it’s you, you’ll need to find something similar to the Middleton vibes.

If you like houndstooth vibes for winter, Zara has some pretty Houndstooth Leggings ($ 36, Zara) who would look fabulous with a chunky black sweater. That said, if you like Middleton’s look for the shape and style of her dress, you’ll find the Ava & Viv Long floral dress with long sleeves and V-neck buttoned on the front ($ 30, Target) has a similar vibe, including a fabric covered waistband, balloon sleeves, and a longer length.

If the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t already your fashion inspiration, let this incredible high-low look be a wake-up call for your wardrobe. Everyone deserves a gorgeous (and affordable) patterned dress for making milkshakes!
